Differential

When a car makes a turn, its outside wheels could travel up to 5 feet further than the inside wheels. Compensating for that is your differential’s job. Differential are made strong and meant to last a long time, which is why it’s important to keep it properly lubricated to ensure it lasts as long as possible. The differential fluid is what cools and protects the gears – too little fluid and your differential will run too hot and wear prematurely. That’s why our technicians will make sure that you always have enough fresh fluid.

Differentials do eventually wear out, so if you hear a strange noise coming from the axle area, have it looked at immediately. If you wait too long and it freezes up on you while you’re driving, you could lose control of your vehicle and it could damage you axle, driveshaft and transmission.
